Generate TOC is included in three forms: Generate TOC-SMTP/POP, Generate TOC-QM, and Generate TOC-MS corresponding to each of the ListSTAR platforms. Each Generate TOC application creates an applescript which generates a Table of Contents and appends it to the beginning of a digest file. The applescript then sends the digest to a specified Address List.
Setup
Run the application which matches which "flavour" of ListSTAR you are using and fill in the fields it presents. The application supports balloon help and drag-and-drop. Once you save the script, it will give instructions for configuring the ListSTAR rules and how to execute the newly created script. After the script has been created do not open the script because certain properties will be lost. If you wish to make changes to the script, launch the Generate TOC application and use the File pull down window to open an existing script in order to make your changes.
What you Need
AppleScript as well as the scriptable Finder. (An install of System 7.5 or later guarantees compatibility, although System 7 Pro may work as well).
